Your healthiest life starts with weight loss.

Weight loss isn’t just about numbers on a scale – it can have a huge impact on your overall health. Medical or surgical weight loss can help lower your risk of:

  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Lung disease
  • Blood clots
  • Certain cancers
  • Joint or back pain
  • Arthritis

Over time, weight loss can also improve – or even resolve – chronic conditions including:

  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Infertility
  • Sleep apnea
  • Chronic respiratory problems

But the benefits don’t stop there – weight loss can boost your energy, improve mobility and build your confidence.

Am I a candidate for medical or surgical weight loss?

If you’ve struggled to lose weight through diet and exercise alone, you might be a candidate for medical or surgical weight loss.

Your doctor will look at factors including your:

  • Body mass index (BMI), calculated based on your height and weight.
  • Chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep apnea.
  • Family history of obesity.
  • Difficulty walking or performing everyday activities.

But your best weight loss option isn’t just about numbers – it’s about finding the right approach for your unique needs and goals.
Take this assessment to find the best weight loss option for you

The right weight loss treatment starts with you

Your doctor will work closely with you to develop a personalized weight loss plan. Together, you’ll explore a range of options – both medical and surgical – and discuss which might be the most effective for helping you reach your goals. Whether it’s a single treatment or a combination of approaches, your doctor will ensure your plan is customized to support your long-term health.
Our non-surgical options include:

  • Medication: We offer FDA-approved medications to help with weight loss.
  • Special Diet Programs: Work with a registered dietitian to create a plan that fits your life.
  • Exercise Plans: We draw on a variety of fitness programs to support your needs and help achieve your goals.
  • Behavioral Health Support: Our behavioral health specialists are trained to address the emotional aspect of obesity and help you remove any barriers to success.

Our surgical options include:

  • Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass: Your surgeon creates a small pouch in your upper stomach to limit how much you can eat, leaving you full after smaller portions. By bypassing part of the small intestine, you’ll also absorb less calories.
  • Sleeve gastrectomy: Your surgeon creates a small, sleeve-shaped stomach to limit how much you can eat while still feeling full.
  • Adjustable gastric band: A LAP-BAND® is placed on your upper stomach to restrict the amount of food that can enter. A small port allows the surgeon to adjust the band as needed.
  • Intragastric balloon: The Orbera® balloon is placed in your stomach and inflated to reduce your food intake, helping you feel full faster. This temporary solution kickstarts weight loss and is removed after six months.
